If desired, apply a Minwax Water Based Wood Stain or Minwax Wood Finish stain to the bare wood, allowing at least 24 hours for it to dry before applying the Polycrylic Finish.

When ready to apply the Polycrylic Finish, stir the product well before and during use, being careful not to shake it. Using a high-quality synthetic bristle brush, apply a thin, even coat in the direction of the wood grain, taking care not to over-brush. Allow the first coat to dry for at least 2 hours, then lightly sand with fine 220-grit sandpaper to ensure an even finish and proper adhesion of additional coats. Remove all dust before applying the second coat.
