Prestige Paints' 100% acrylic exterior latex paint and primer in one is a high-end paint designed for use on exterior surfaces, including properly prepared wood, masonry surfaces, cement board siding, vinyl*, aluminum, and factory-primed siding. Note that when painting vinyl siding, it is important not to use a color darker than the original siding, as this may cause the siding to warp.

Surface preparation is crucial before applying the paint. The surface should be free of dirt, mildew, grease, wax, soap residue, and loose or peeling paint. Glossy areas must be dulled by sanding. All bare, new wood and factory-primed wood should be primed with an oil-based primer, while masonry surfaces, including cementitious siding, should be primed with a latex primer.

The paint should be stirred or mixed before use, and all containers should be intermixed to ensure color uniformity. It can be applied with a high-quality brush, roller, or pad painter. If necessary, the paint can be thinned sparingly with water for spraying. Overspraying should be avoided. The temperature must be above 50°F (10°C) for application.

The average coverage is 400 square feet (37 square meters) per gallon (3.78 L). For best performance, two coats of paint should be applied on new surfaces after priming. The paint should not be used indoors.

Dry time is 1 to 2 hours, and the paint should be allowed to dry overnight before applying a second coat. Low temperature or high humidity may increase the dry time.

Cleanup is easy with warm water and soap.

Satin finish paints are among the most commonly used finishes for exterior surfaces. Satin finishes are effective in resisting mildew, are easier to clean than flat or eggshell finishes, and can be wiped down or lightly scrubbed. They are ideal for painting siding in good to excellent condition, as they shed water effectively and do not fade quickly from the sun. Satin paint is also a good choice for painting trim and shutters.
